WHO IS THE COURSE FOR?
Our Italian language and culture programme in Florence is aimed for over-50s wishing to combine a holiday in Italy with the opportunity to learn the language and embark on fascinating cultural trips in Florence and Tuscany.
OBJECTIVES
The course aims to offer a stimulating experience while learning Italian in Italy. Students will immerse themselves in the Italian lifestyle and meet people from all over the world who share the same interests. The two-week programme is available in spring and autumn.
CONTENT
The programme offers a pleasant combination of activities including Italian lessons, day trips, and food and wine tours.
Italian language lessons – 36 lessons
The course offers 36 Italian lessons with a focus on developing speaking skills. Class sizes are small and participants take a placement test on their first day to ensure they are placed in the right class. The course is not suitable for absolute beginners; a basic knowledge of the Italian language is required.
Guided art history tours
The Linguaviva Italian language and culture programme includes guided tours of famous museums, academies, monuments, churches, gardens, and historic villas in Tuscany. Participants will be guided by Linguaviva teachers. Transport, guided tours, and entrance fees are included in the price. Meals are not included.
Day trips
Let’s not forget about our day trips, which are perfect for exploring the captivating blend of history, culture, art, and landscapes that have made Tuscany and Italy renowned worldwide. Our day trips are supervised by Linguaviva teachers and include transport, guided tours, and entrance fees. Meals are not included in the price.
Food and wine
During your stay in Florence, participants will have the opportunity to discover the secrets of Italian gastronomy and wines. Two lessons at a renowned cookery school in Florence, culinary-themed events, and a visit to a beautiful winery in the Chianti region await you.
